Getting Started with Koda Launch AI

What you'll need

Before you open Koda, make sure you have:

  • A Garmin Approach R10 launch monitor
  • A Windows computer
  • Koda Launch AI installed (grab it from your account dashboard)

That's it. No additional hardware, no extra subscriptions.

Step 1: Connect your R10

Power on your R10 and open Koda. On the connection screen, click Pair Device — Koda will scan for your R10 over Bluetooth and connect in about 30 seconds. Once paired, Koda remembers your device, so future sessions connect automatically.

Tip: Keep your laptop within 10 feet of the R10 for a stable connection during a session.

Step 2: Hit your first shot

Once connected, Koda enters live session mode. Select Range Mode, choose the club you're hitting, then swing as you normally would. The moment the R10 finishes its read, you'll see metrics stream into Koda, along with a Total Score out of 100 — a single number that captures face control, path control, and strike quality together.

Your first few shots are calibration. Don't overthink the score — just swing.

Step 3: Open the Coach Hub

After 10–15 shots, open the Coach Hub tab. Type anything:

  • "Why is my smash factor so low?"
  • "What's causing my high spin numbers?"
  • "Give me one drill to fix my path."

Koda has every shot from your session in context and will respond with specific, actionable coaching — not generic tips.

Understanding your score

Score Label What it means
90–99 Great Excellent for that shot type
75–89 Solid Consistent, competitive ball-striking
60–74 Playable Room to improve but functional
20–59 Needs Work A clear area to focus on

The goal isn't to chase 100 on every shot — it's to see the number climb across sessions.

What's next

After a few sessions, Koda will start to learn you and map your tendencies. You will see patterns, get personalized drills and focus areas to help improve your game. Watch over time as your average shot scores increase.
